E liquid/E Juice
Side Note: One very important thing to mention here is that nicotine e-liquid or e-juice is a concentrated form of nicotine which is highly toxic. Precautions should be taken when handling e-liquid and always read the label first. E-liquid could be potentially fatal if ingested and one must always ensure that electronic cigarette products, including items containing e-juice such as cartomizers etc., are kept locked away and out of the reach of children.
E-liquid comes in two primary forms Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG).
Propylene Glycol tends to give you a better throat hit while Vegetable Glycerin will give you more vapor. VG also has a sweeter taste to it. You will find many ejuice manufacturers using a common ratio of: 70% PG to 30% VG.
E-liquid comes with varying levels of nicotine from 0mg up to 36mg, however keep in mind that the nicotine absorption rate from inhaling electronic cigarette vapor is less than from inhaling the smoke from a traditional tobacco cigarette. Therefore a higher level nicotine strength may be required. For example if you smoked analogue cigarettes of 12mg strength you may need a e-liquid of 18mg strength.
The types of flavored ejuices available is huge ranging from Red Bull to Cappuccino to traditional tobacco to a variety of fruits and everything imaginable in between.
You can purchase sample packs from many vendors. These give you a variety of their range of e-juice in small 5ml bottles for you to try.
You can also make your own e-liquids if you want, however their is a learning curve that should be considered before creating your own juice.
If you are deciding weather to give up your regular analog cigarettes in favor of electronic cigarettes we would recommend that you check out the world’s best electronic cigarettes and start of with a moderately priced starter kit, these have their own charging cases (PCC’s) that allow you charge the spare batteries on the go so that you always have a fully charged battery on hand, this relieves the issue of a small mah value that these smaller devices generally have.
Most of the starter kits on the market come with pre-filled cartomizers so there is there is no need to fill the cartridges/cartomizers with nicotine juice yourself eliminating any risk of possibly adding too much nicotine to the carts, also it can be a sticky and messy process.
If retaining the form factor of smoking regular cigarettes is not important to you then the eGO Twist Vv comes highly recommended. If you’ve already started using electronic cigarettes and want to take it to the next level and if money is not an issue you might want to consider the Povarri.
With regards to cartomizers and atomizers the 3 best manufacturers are Boge, Kanger and Smok Technology. You really have to experience them for yourself, different people prefer different brands. We have found Kranger’s low resistance to be very good and we can also recommend the kranger and Vision clearomizers as well as the Vision Vivi Nova.
For e-liquids we can recommend totally Wicked, Halo and Hansen brands, not to say that there are not others worth trying, it’s just that these are 3 brands we have tried and have come to enjoy.
So now that you have a good understanding of electronic cigarettes and other vaping devices, what do you do next?
This is the fun part of using electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers i.e. trying different cartomizers, atomizers, batteries, tanks, MODS and experimenting with various flavors and strengths of eliquids/juices.
Remember that the absorption rate of nicotine from electronic cigarettes and PV’s is less than analogues and therefore requires a little getting used to, so don’t be surprised if you feel like you’re chain vaping at times.
